Today, Google's Andy Rubin announced that plans for the 'Open Handset Alliance' and 'Android' will take priority over the GPhone. Claimed by Rubin to be more significant and ambitious than a single product (GPhone), these developments will deliver the first open and comprehensive platform for mobile devices including: an operating system, middleware and newer, more relevant mobile applications. However, the platform could certainly make a handset more plausible, but it simply isn't as high of a priority. A preview of the Android Software Development Kid (SDK) will be released to developers on November 12 via The Open Handset Alliance website. Set as favorite Bookmark
