Androids Before GPhones E-mail
Monday, 05 November 2007
Today, Google's Andy Rubin announced that plans for the 'Open Handset Alliance' and 'Android' will take priority over the GPhone. Claimed by Rubin to be more significant and ambitious than a single product (GPhone), these developments will deliver the first open and comprehensive platform for mobile devices including:  an operating system, middleware and newer, more relevant mobile applications. However, the platform could certainly make a handset more plausible, but it simply isn't as high of a priority.  A preview of the Android Software Development Kid (SDK) will be released to developers on November 12 via The Open Handset Alliance website.
