As far as Orange County nightlife goes, it is safe to say that you are going to want to stay out of the "nightclubs" if you want to keep your image from being smeared all over Dirty Newport. The VIBE OC event each month at the Shark Club is the exception to this rule. This venue is classy and cool, and the VIBE events are always a great time. Last month's event was the largest the Orange County's Shark Club has ever seen, and the musical line up this month looks to be just as promising. Some of the finest electronic musicians from all over will be keeping us going throughout the night. Saturday, April 26th...be there. |

Vibe is back. If you want to come to the best party in Orange County while simultaneously partying with The Land Salmon and our trainwreck friends, come on down to Shark Club in Costa Mesa this Saturday Night. If you get there before 10, it's free. There are rumors of body shots and bumping and grinding. In all seriousness though, The Soundlaab Crew has flown in some great acts from around the world to be part of this event, so you d so this is an event you won't want to miss it. |

Well known in the Southern California music scene and beyond, Mike Conley, lead singer of 80's punk band MIA was found dead in a Chicago parking lot this week. He was 48. Our condolences go out to his friends and family during this difficult time. He was also the owner of nightlife hot spot Avalon Bar in Costa Mesa, a TLS favorite. His venue was known for bringing in talented DJ's from all over and slinging 32 oz. Miller High Lifes in a brown bag. Just our kind of place. The bar is dimly lit and covered with Mike's own custom cabinetry, truely one of the few legitmately cool spots for nightlife in Orange County. For information on the fund that has been set up to help support his wife and three daughters visit mikeconleyfamilyfund.com. |

Two of my favorite LA stores, Lions Den and Welcome Hunters, will be hosting their "Big Trouble in Little China" event this Saturday Night. This is a monthly event wherein the stores, which are both located in Chinatown, take over their local haunt, The Mountain Bar. If you are in the LA area be sure to check it out! |
