There are rumors going around of a mysterious film shot by P.T. Anderson featuring the deceased folk singer Elliott Smith. According to Wholphin Magazine, Anderson, the writer and director of Boogie Nights and Magnolia among others, reportedly filmed a short movie before Smith's death in 2003, in which he plays "a Rastafarian basketball player." I think everyone saw that role coming for the musician. Pitchfork reports that cigarettesandredvines.com (The Definitive P.T. Anderson Resource) claims that Wholphin has said that the film might be released in mid-2008. Sounds like a sure thing to me. We will keep you posted.
