Honda Motocompo E-mail
Wednesday, 20 February 2008
Here is an item that was way before its time. The Honda Motocompo was an air-cooled 2-stroke, 49cc scooter produced from 1981 to 1985. Only 53,369 of these were produced. It was sold in Japan and was marketed only as an "option" for the Honda City car, made to fit in the trunk when folded. The Motocompo was available in caribbean red, shetland white, and daisy yellow. I think the ad campaign, which shows the scoots endorsed by some NKOTB look-alikes, might have been what killed sales. The look good enough to eat, I want one in each color (ketchup, mustard and mayo).
