aSmallWorld.net: Exclusive Social Networking E-mail
Wednesday, 28 November 2007
The folks at aSmallWorld.net have upped the ante on Myspace and Facebook by creating a social networking site for the elite. Membership is issued by invitation only, which must come from an already established member. The welcome section on the site reads, "If you have not received an invitation, you can ask your friends to invite you. If you have no friends who are members yet, please be patient." The site is directed toward the upper crust of society, with most members earning over $250,000 per year. Criterion for membership often includes education, languages spoken and net worth. With an average age of 32, most members of the site are young professionals or entrepreneurs from wealthy families. According to an article on nytimes.com, an actual announcement on the site read, “If anyone is looking for a private island, I now have one available for purchase in Fiji.” Don't expect to jump into this circle anytime soon, so until that invitation lands in your inbox, you are stuck with "NEW PIX OF ME N MY BFF!!!!~~LOL!!!"
