Orange County's boutique fashion darling Trovata just opened their first flagship store on 31st in Newport Beach. Furnished entirely with found objects, the store is designed to match the brand's California prep feel. An eclectic mix of music (each song individually chosen by founder John Whitledge) plays in the tent lounge where you can peruse the collection of vintage Playboy's or watch old movies projected on the wall. It was announced this week there would be an L.A. premiere for the Mash SF movie. This movie, directed by Gabe Morford and Mike Martin, chronicles the lifestyle of the SF-based Mash crew, and the city's bike messengers. The buildout is tastefully executed, and the staff are very friendly. Our question then is this - how did they come up with the plan to take sketchy-looking European has-beens on people movers, tell them to "act sexy" and flirt....in order to sell people on free business checking? |
