Road Trip Nation started with four friends and one question: "what do I want to do with my life?" Fresh out of college and unsure about the career paths in front of them, they were determined to expose themselves to more than just the traditional life roads. They hopped in an old RV, painted it green, and hit the road to talk with inspiring people from all walks of life to find out how they came to do what they love for a living. Today, Road Trip Nation has evolved into a PBS series, three books, an online community, and a student movement. RN sends people on the road who are interested in exploring the world outside their comfort zone, talking with individuals who chose to define their own road in life, and sharing their experiences with our generation. source: roadtripnation.com |

Here is a great photo journal by the iconic young designer. Famous for bringing the thin, grungy look to mainstream men's fashion while heading up the Dior Homme collection, Slimane gives a glimse into the inspiration with shots of his daily life. The exclusively black and white photography is very simple but telling. View at hedislimane.com/diary. |

The purpose of license plates are to act as a free billboard on which you can display your message to the world. Why not use this opportunity to let people in on what a dick-hole you are? Don't settle for the state-appointed identification for your car, if given the chance, I would change my social security number to "honk-if-u-r-horny" in a heartbeat. Use this medium to tell everyone what kind of shitty music you like, your sexual preferences, or to simply send hostile message to a fellow driver. Here are some examples of the kind of social activism that make this country so great. More... 10. "Man, I Feel Like a Woman?" Unfortunately, you probably still look like a man. |

Our friends at Eco-Libris are offering some great environmentally conscious gift ideas for this holiday season. If you are not familiar with the project, basically, you give them a dollar, they plant a tree and send you a sticker to put on your environmentally destructive book to show that you feel bad about what you have done and have taken the proper corrective action. This is a unique and inexpensive idea for a gift for each of your friends. Here is what they are doing: 1. Eco-Libris + Holiday Card - Plant trees to balance out the books your loved ones read. Eco-Libris will send them a beautiful holiday card (made of recycled paper) and stickers to display on their books’ sleeves. Go to: http://www.ecolibris.net/holidays.asp 2. Eco-Libris Gift Certificate - Give an Eco-Libris gift certificate to the people you care about, with which they will be able to plant trees for the books they read. For every tree planted, they will receive an Eco-Libris sticker to display on their book’s sleeve. Go to: http://www.ecolibris.net/certificate.asp Go snag some of these for your friends and family. If your friends and family don't read books, buy them anyway and put the stickers on their TV. Click here for more information on the project, or visit ecolibris.net. |

This website is intense. PostSecret is an ongoing community art project wherein people anonymously send a hand-made post card with their secret on it. Some are cute and light-hearted, others are incredibly heavy. It is a great concept and an entertaining read for you voyeurs. View the project at postsecret.blogspot.com. |
