Harmony Korine New Face of Marc Jacobs E-mail
Monday, 18 February 2008
Recently, Marc Jacobs has began running ads for his Marc by Marc Jacobs line featuring indie-director/writer Harmony Korine. These pictorials have the same gritty realism one can expect from the Jacobs + Teller combo and, as usual, have nothing to do with the brand's collection. The eclectic use of his models- Meg White, Dakota Fanning, Harmony Korine, et al.- is likely more telling of Jacobs' personal tastes than a reflection of the way his brand is perceived. Whatever the case may be, the end result is something unique and ultimately artistic. This can't hurt clothing sales.
