Filippa K Spring Summer 08 Footwear E-mail
Monday, 18 February 2008

I was never a sneaker-head, per se, but I have always had a strong fascination with footwear. There's probably 30-some pairs of shoes in my closet, mostly vans, and I wear/skate all of them. These days I'm starting to appreciate more refined styles, ones that I might even take care of (wear socks in). These new hi-tops from Filippa K are a prime example of what I'm getting at. This is what one could come to expect out of a contemporary brand from Scandinavia. I think that instead of spending 30 grand a year on a merchandising degree from FIDM, kids who want to get innovative in the fashion industry should study some type of design (industrial, graphic, interior) in metropolitan Northern Europe. There, I said it.
