I Stomach LA E-mail
Tuesday, 05 February 2008
It is all about tolerance in Southern California. If you truly want to enjoy the city you live in, move to Berlin. If you just want to be seen and perpetuate the delusions regarding your impending fame, then you are going to have to deal with everyone else that is delusional about their impending fame. Show your disdain for the Super Suburb with this "I Stomach LA" tee from Twee Things. Hey, it beats most LA fashion. But don't fret Angelenos, summer is right around the corner, and soon 40% of the population will be wearing shorts that are 30% shorter than last year and taking themselves 20% less seriously.

Sophnet Fashion E-mail
Tuesday, 05 February 2008

Japanese fashion label Sophnet just released their Spring 2008 collection. The style is light and preppy, and the clean cuts make for a great look this season. Paired with your well worn jeans and top-siders, you will pull off the northeast-chic fashion with just a hint of country. Stay away from hats, man-bags and light colored pants and you are golden.

Here is a great tee from Timber's Etsy store. They have loads of neat illustrated screenprints, most involving lumberjacks, trees, or antique imagery. Check it out here.

Rittenhouse Polka Dot Hoody E-mail
Thursday, 31 January 2008
The Rittenhouse men's collection blends surf, skate and streetwear fashion, resulting in a charming, moderate style. It is based on simple shapes using only high grade fabrics manufactured in Australia. The trapezoidal (don't call it a rhombus) front pocket ads some interest to this piece. It is on sale here.

Opening Ceremony Pea Coat Sweater E-mail
Tuesday, 29 January 2008
Anything double breasted has been big this season, even extending into knits. The cardigans are tough to pull off because most of them only have four buttons which fall right around the gut, which makes them unflattering. It also misses the whole point of making anything double breasted in the first place, which is to adorn yourself with a shitload of beautiful buttons. This Pea Coat Sweater by New York fashion label Opening Ceremony is a very modest piece that does it the way it should be done. The buttons extend higher and the colorway is subtle yet interesting with the contrasting collar. Get it at tobi.com.

Frye Boots: The Sid Tall Lace Up E-mail
Tuesday, 29 January 2008
Frye is famous for making bad ass motorcycle boots for people that don't ride motorcycles. These are great for the LA rockers sporting turquoise cuffs and belt-buckles with boot fit jeans, but what about the fashionable slim jean crowd? The Sid Tall Lace Ups are perfect for jeans that won't go over the top of the standard high boot. Just leave them unlaced and tuck your jeans casually into the top. BAM! The perfect middle ground between combat and cowboy.
