They have been around for a while, but there are very few things that make us laugh harder than Vice Magazine's DOs and DON'Ts. Here are a few of this week's favorites. |

People can change. And so can sneaker companies. Greedy Genius, generally regarded as a very youthful sneaker brand, has released some hi-tops as part of their Southwest Pack that are reminiscent more of brands such as Common Projects or Clae. The color scheme is inspired by New Mexico and Native American culture, and the brand seems to be moving away from their textbook use of patent materials - bright colors are still employed but not lock, stock and barrel. As seen below, a bright green is complimented with black leather and snakeskin that gives off a much more sophisticated look than one would expect from GG. In all, seven styles will be released in this pack including some that were released earlier this year. For more information visit Greedy Genius. |

Most American streetwear brands are based out of, or at least rely heavily on inspiration from either New York City or Los Angeles. There has been a movement from within LA's little brother, Orange County over the last few years which has seen the growth of what used to be just a few very small clothing companies. Now these brands are starting to grow up, fully emerging themselves into the world of cut-and-sew and global distribution. The brand for which recent growth has been the most substantial is Triumvir. The image of this brand has drastically improved and it seems that they are taking design cues from lifestyle brands (not Bape, however), rather than skate companies which many streetwear brands tend to do. With all of that said, their fall 2007 range will be made available tomorrow on Triumvir's website. |

Owned and operated by the founder of fashion label Modern Amusement, Generic Youth is taking a different approach to the California clothing industry. Design, cutting, sewing, screenprint and sales are all under one roof, a very organic operation. Garments are constructed from an eclectic mix of materials. Vintage tees are cut up and sewn onto sweatshirts, while scrap denim for bottoms is obtained from larger neighbors like Volcom and Paul Frank. Currently, their warehouse/storefront on 16th and Pomona in Costa Mesa, CA is the exclusive retail location for the lifestyle collection. Generic Youth 1609 Pomona Ave. Costa Mesa, CA 92627 |
