Buckler Fall 2007 E-mail
Wednesday, 14 November 2007
New York based Buckler's Fall 07 Collection is great. Although designer Andrew Buckler has a tendency towards the rock and roll extreme at times, his use of color is very appealing. In this line, Buckler uses many just-off-tone color combinations, making good use of orange and mauve in many pieces. The garments that are more muted in color achieve a very classic look that goes well with the clever design details. See more at bucklershowroom.com.

Reebok Timetanium Ventilator E-mail
Wednesday, 14 November 2007
Reebok have teamed up with world famous graphic designer John Maeda to create the Limited Edition Reebok Timetanium. Designed through a computer process utilizing Maeda's mathematical algorithims, the graphic adorns the outside of the shoe, while the original handwritten code is hidden on the shoes' lining. Maeda is most known for his integration of computer programs and art to create unique designs and this shoe is a much welcomed change of pace from the number of collaborations we are exposed to on a daily basis. Check out the Reebok Custom website for more info.

SiFury Harris Tweed Mean E-mail
Wednesday, 14 November 2007
Japanese label SiFury has released a new option of their popular Mean style in Harris Tweed. Set to begin shipping in time for Christmas, this shoe is available now for pre-order at Zicue. The vulcanized hi-top features a the Herringbone tweed on the side panel and toe cap. This style reminds me of the ubiquitous Vans Sk8 Hi, of which I have many many pairs.  It will retail for around $140 US.

Cockpit USA E-mail
Wednesday, 14 November 2007
Cockpit, a fashion lifestyle brand out of New York, is inspired by authentic U.S. Military designs and materials. Originally founded in 1977 by Jeff Clyman with the intention of reproducing vintage flight clothing, the brand was only recently relaunched in its current state in 2005. The designs are smart and the you couldn't ask for a better price-point considering the quality of the materials employed. We love the angular panneling on the front of the pea coats and creative use of buttons. See more of the collection and let us know what you think here...

Pegleg NYC Holiday 07 E-mail
Wednesday, 14 November 2007
Pegleg NYC updated their website today. Their Holiday 2007 styles are now available through the brand's own online store and should be hitting their retailers soon as well. Pegleg NYC is a brand that has stood out to me from day one and is a good example in how an emerging 'premium streetwear' brand should do things, aesthetically speaking. Pegleg has always had a pretty impressive cut-and-sew line-up and this season have stepped up their t-shirt game and enlisted the aid of New Era in producing a couple of fitted hats. For more information check out www.peglegnyc.com.

Streetwearer E-mail
Wednesday, 14 November 2007
If you ever read the 'Dont Believe The Hypebeast' (DBTH) blog that was around last year (until its publishers were outed), you'll know in what vein its content was written. The site was pretty biting in its critique of streetwear as a global phenomenon and the social and community dynamics involved therein. Most of the time it was pretty dead-on, sometimes it was way off, but it was always cruel. When I stumbled upon this site, it reminded me of DBTH and I thought I should post it. This is not an endorsement of the opinions expressed below. If you have trouble reading the text hit CTRL + or visit this link.
