The latest addition to the Bowery's booming contstruction projects is the New Museum of Contemporary Art. In a move from its previous Soho location, the New Museum will bring with it a bit of class and culture to lend to the neighborhood's recent facelift. The building consists of six unevenly stacked boxes, composed of glass, pivoting around a central point. Each box unique in square footage, layout and ceiling height. Interestingly, the aluminum expanded metal mesh used to create the facade of the building is the same material used to make many of the garbage cans in the New York City. The museum is set to open December 1. For more info on the opening exhibits, visit newmuseum.org. ![]() source: blackbookmag.com
