The photography of Deanna Templeton, RVCA artist and wife of professional skateboarder/artist Ed Templeton, will be on display this month at Mollusk Surf Shop in Venice Beach, CA. Opening reception will be April 19th from 7-10PM. Also featured will be the paintings of Alexis Amann. For more information on Templeton, visit her RVCA blog. I'm hoping that in this particular show there will be less pictures than usual of her husband's genitals. Mollusk is located at 1600 Pacific Ave, Venice Beach CA 90291. source: rvcaclothing.com |

Come check out the Art for the Environment show on March 20 in Irvine, hosted by our friends at OC Green Guide and 98ten Fine Art. A diverse exhibition, Art for the Environment is comprised of works by 15 environmentally conscious artists such as Kathy Jones, a seven-year exhibitor at the Festival of the Arts, and Jesse Miller, who creates surf inspired pieces including murals and wood carvings. Come enjoy live music, organic hors d'oeuvres and an array of art by these established and emerging local artists. All proceeds from the silent auction and a portion of associated sales will benefit local environmental organizations including Surfrider, Heal the Bay and The Laguna Canyon Foundation. The silent auction will close at 9 p.m., so bid early but stay late for a rare performance by Marc B. An Orange County native, Marc has played with the likes of Jack Johnson and Matt Costa and will share his surf-inspired sounds in a live acoustic performance beginning at 8 p.m. Visit ocgreenguide.com for more details. |

Here are a few photos from the TOMS Give art show at Active Ride Shop in Westwood last night. There was a great turn out and everyone had a blast painting their own shoes. Sign made of white TOMS. Sean makes his stance known on Lakers basketball and the war. Finished product. This is apparently how it feels to "Give." |

Terry Richardson unveiled a new project this week in the form of an online magazine: Richardsonmag.com. This work includes a broad collection of contributors such as Harmony Korine, Ed Templeton and as you probably already guessed, Terry Richardson. There are some quite candid works in this compilation and is a nice jumping-off point from which one could learn more about artists whose work complement Richardson, and vice-versa. This might be a better website to view when you are in the privacy of your home and not in the computer lab at your Christian/Catholic high school. source: richardsonmag.com |

Chawee Busayarat is a PhD student from Thailand living in Marseilles, France, and his skill and resilience are featured at lomography.com as he has actually made a movie using the following (in his words): 8 films 1 camera 4 hr. of walk 745 photos 1 photo in every 5 step 50 hr. of film scanning And a little camera modification to make my holga can shoot around 100 photos in only one 135 film camera - Holga 120CFN films - Ferrania Solaris 200 / Kodak Elitecrome ExtreColor 100 / Fuji Sensia 100 / Agfa Presica CT 100 / Casino Negativecolor 400 location - Vieux-Port de Marseille, Fr Ever since I first imagined doing this project, I knew that I would need a lot of photos to make a smooth movement. But lots of photos mean high film and development costs and I can't affort that. So, this is how I modified my Holga to make it shoot around 100 photos on only one 135 film To check it out, click the preview below, and scroll down to his "about" section. |

Check out the bumps on her! Hef is giving equal opportunity to the disabled with Playboy in braille. This issue was found in the National Library Service for the Blind and Physically Handicapped, which is a division of the Library of Congress. It was shot by photographer Taryn Simon for her book An American Index of the Hidden and Unfamiliar, wherein she gains access to many restricted government research facilities and offices. Very interesting, check it out here. source: wired.com |
